Danny McCrea is a 27-year-old filmmaker and Baltimore native. Danny’s thesis short film from Towson University, Blind Spots, went on to play at the Maryland Film Festival and Indie Short Fest Los Angeles in 2022. Danny also frequents as 1st Assistant Director, doing so on Harris Doran’s 2022 Sundance Official Selection, F^¢K '€M R!GHT B@¢K, which has since gone on to play at Tribeca Film Festival, Palm Springs International Shorts Fest, and Aspen ShortsFest, picking up the Best Comedy Jury Prize in Aspen. Since fall 2021, Danny has been assistant directing his first feature film as well, Woman in the Cabinet, from the producers of 2018’s Madeline’s Madeline. Danny held the 1st AD title on Brenda and Billy and the Pothos Plant, a short film starring Santino Fontana and Sarah Stiles that had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, and the upcoming 2025 short film Green Eggs for Pam.
In addition to working on narrative projects, Danny has been a videographer and photographer in the DMV area for the past six years, having shot and created content for several companies and artists including Sony Music Entertainment, Audrey Nuna, Insomniac Events, and NBA 2K League.
